Olatunde Oni is a highly respected authority in financial services, recognised for his strategic initiative, analytical acumen, and goal-oriented approach. With nearly thirty years of comprehensive experience, he has cultivated expertise across Operations, Foreign Exchange Management, Relationship Management, Credit Risk Analysis, Project and Corporate Finance, Transaction Banking, and Product Development. Olatunde is regarded as a dedicated team contributor with a proven ability to positively influence colleagues and communicate effectively. His commitment to organisational success is reflected in his collaborative nature and innovative perspective.
Over the course of his career, Olatunde has occupied several senior leadership positions, including Head of Transaction Banking Product Development (Trade), Acting Head of Transaction Banking Operations (Trade, Payments, Remittances), Head of Trade Operations (Cross-Border Payments, Remittances), and Head of Electronic Product Operations. In these roles, he has played an instrumental part in supporting pension remittances and benefit payments within the Group’s Transaction Banking Operations Department. He has overseen transformative digital initiatives, such as automating payment and remittance systems and refining protocols for cross-border transactions, while consistently upholding customer service and regulatory standards.
Olatunde has actively contributed to shaping the bank’s trade finance and supply chain strategy, notably through structuring substantial Letters of Credit. His project achievements include implementing a Payment and Remittance system, automating foreign currency transactions to comply with Nigeria’s Trade Monitoring System, and overhauling electronic product settlement frameworks. He is acknowledged for driving process improvements that have elevated operational efficiency and regulatory compliance across the organisation.
Since April 2025, Olatunde has focused on enhancing operational effectiveness at First Pension Custodian Nigeria Limited. His initiatives have included optimising processes, bolstering validation procedures, streamlining workflows, resolving contribution reconciliation issues, and building strategic alliances.
His leadership style is characterised by collaboration, rigorous adherence to standards, and a dedication to continuous improvement. Olatunde holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Usman Dan Fodio University and a master’s degree in Personnel Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He is also certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt and has completed executive programmes in leadership and project management.
