OLORUNtimilehin George is widely recognized for his purposeful, determined, and resolute personality, which he has skillfully harnessed alongside his extensive experience, diverse background, and entrepreneurial drive. These qualities define his leadership as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First Pension Custodian Nigeria Limited, a role he has held since March 2020.
Under his stewardship, the company’s Assets Under Custody (AUC) have grown from approximately N3 trillion in March 2020 to over N10 trillion as of December 2024. As CEO, OLORUNtimilehin has been pivotal in crafting and executing strategies that enhance shareholder value while fostering a workplace culture rooted in excellence, innovation, and adherence to ethical practices outlined in the organization’s Code of Business Conduct.
He actively monitors the competitive market landscape, identifies expansion opportunities, and stays abreast of industry developments. By setting clear, measurable strategic goals, he ensures organizational objectives align with long-term success.
Before his appointment as CEO, OLORUNtimilehin served as Group Head, Financial Institutions and Multilaterals at First Bank of Nigeria Limited (February 2018 – February 2020). He also spent nearly eight years at Standard Chartered Bank, where he delivered outstanding results across a range of complex transactions, solidifying his reputation as a seasoned leader in the financial sector.
With three decades of experience spanning Origination and Coverage in the Pension industry, Financial Institutions & Multilateral engagements, Treasury & Currency Trading, Institutional & Corporate Banking, Public Sector, Operations, Branch Management, and Consumer Banking, OLORUNtimilehin has a proven track record of strategic innovation and relationship management. His expertise encompasses transaction origination, team leadership, and driving growth in key financial institutions.
A passionate advocate for continuous learning, OLORUNtimilehin is a graduate of Business Administration, an MBA in Strategic Management, and the MBA Essentials from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is an alumnus of the Advanced Management Program (AMP 20, 2008) at Lagos Business School and has completed executive education programs at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania – Management Development Program, and Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, where he earned the Oxford Executive Leadership Program. He also holds a Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Corporate Governance Institute and Glasgow Caledonian University, further strengthening his expertise in governance and organizational leadership.
OLORUNtimilehin has contributed significantly to the Banking and Pensions sectors through various leadership roles. He served on the Sub-Committee on Economic Development, Sustainability, and Gender of the Bankers’ Committee for seven years, advocating for improved access to finance for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).He was also a member of the Executive Committee and Governing Council of the Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp) and is affiliated with prestigious professional bodies such as: Forbes Business Council, Chartered Institute of Directors (CIOD), Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (Honorary Member), Fellow, Institute of Strategic Management and Fellow, Institute of Credit Administration.
